Unable to get trial to function on Windows 2012 R2 site

Hi there,

I'm having a number of issue in getting the trial version to operate on my NOPCommerce 3.6 site

I'm trying to trial it on 1 of our sites and have the following problems:

1. I cannot get Solr (Version 6) to remain active if I log off the server, it appears Solr needs to be started from a command window and only stays active if this is open. I  tried NSSM and installing it as a service however it fails to remain started. I had hoped you would of extended me a hosted version of Solr for the trial however I've not heard anything from you since I requested the trial last week and with only a 10 day licence for the trial I've lost over half of this already.

2. With Solr running I can index the products and seem to have a search working although it does not appear to return a well defined list against a search criteria e.g. I search for wordone wordtwo and get results without wordtwo in there. this is with the select operator set to AND.

3. As I have only requested a trial licence for one of our websites I was surprised to find that search was effective disabled on our other sites with a message telling users not to publish the language until the core is indexed and configured. I have set Search to be only active on the one site I have a licence for and ensured that nopaccelerate is not active for all sites option. I added an index for one of our other sites to see if this would overcome the issue and this resulted in an error page being displayed on the site.

Any assistance on overcoming these issues would be appreciated.

Regards,
Renners.

For this you can create default task schedule in windows. Moreover, we also provide Solr Hosting on our Hosting Server.

We need to check this at your end to know the cause. Can you please share your site details on which you have installed our plugins.

You need to create separate Solr core for all stores and languages as Solr itself not provides multilanguage. This is the reason it shows you that notification.

Hi Ankita,

Thank you for your reply:

1. I'll give the scheduled task a try, I suspect it will start and stop instantly as does Solr when run as a service. I was aware you provide hosting and was under the impression this was offered as part of the trial.

2. Given item 3. I've disabled nopaccelerate at the moment so until 3. is fixed there is nothing to see.

3. So you are saying that even though I don't want the functionality on our other websites I still have to have the overhead of a Solr Core for each site? To be clear I only use one language (english) on all our sites so it is not a multilanguage issue it is the fact that search does not function on the other sites when nopaccelerate is enabled on the one we have a trial licence for.

Thank you for your assistance.

Renners.

If you want to host your Solr core on our Solr hosting Server for your trial period, kindly give us your details of location, nopCommerce version and IP address for which you allow the Solr connection in created ticket 8538. We will do further process and contact you on the same.

Hi Ankita,

as I suspected, I tried this method and nothing happens, the scheduled task shows as running yet Solr cannot be connected to if I press the check core connectivity button.

Any suggestions?

Hello Renners,

I need your credentials to check why it is not working. Can you please provide the same in the ticket that we have generated for your issue?

This is where the disconnect is I think, I have never received the email you mention thus cannot reply to it. I use gmail as our email service so searching is comprehensive.

Ideally I would like to use nopaccelerate as a hosted service (including category search) on our primary web site whilst also keeping our other sites on our multi-site nopcommerce installation functioning.(e.g. with the nopcommerce search working.) This will only be achieve if we can first trial the service/software successfully.

Renners.
