Hello, As a novice with limited knowledge does anyone know what the API key is used for and if I need to make any changes elsewhere within the site?

The scope of the API is very limited and support four methods 1. Add New Products, 2. Update
Products, 3. Delete Products and 4. Start Indexing. Please find the nopAccelerate (SOLR) API document in downloaded folder of nopAccelerate for more information about how to use it.
