Question: [SolrProduct] What is the use for "Product Attribute Filters"?

Hi, I installed nopAccelerate on the default nopCommerce 3.1 website (containing the demo content with 51 products).

I the nopCommerce demo the "Product attributes" are used for the "Build your own computer" product.
As I can see the use of product attributes on a product detail page, I think it's confusing to filter on these "product attributes". Looking at the default nopCommerce demo, only "specification attributes" are used in filtering (e.g. on the Notebooks page, see http://demo.nopcommerce.com/notebooks).

I would suggest not storing these product attribute values in Solr and not allowing to filter on it (so removing that option from nopAccelerate).

I like to hear what you think about this.

thanks,
Dion

Hi Dion, Thank you for your suggestion. This was actually added as a feature. On a shop selling ready made garments Colors and Size are going to be configured as Product Attributes. And we added this to offer a faceting on this product attributes.

Moreover, this can be disabled from the configuration by disabling Product Attribute Filters from nopAccelerate Solr Catalog Navigation Settings.

Thanks

Thanks for your answer; when selling ready-made products I can understand why this is a cool feature.
